About us
More than 45% of Vermont employers do not offer retirement benefits.¹ Vermont Saves helps bridge the retirement savings gap.
Our mission is to empower workers to establish and increase retirement savings through an automatic, low-cost, trusted retirement plan benefitting Vermont workers, employers and taxpayers.
Save for a more financially secure future
Vermont Saves was passed by the Vermont General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor in 2023 to promote individual retirement savings. The Office of the State Treasurer is sponsoring the workplace retirement savings program for employees who do not otherwise have access to a retirement savings plan through their employer. Employees will be automatically enrolled in a Roth IRA Account. Once enrolled, the account will be funded from an employee’s wages unless the employee opts out.
